MDC provides a payment feature to connect to the Leadless Chip Carrier (LCC) module and allow for paying the taxes and duties calculated amounts and a surcharge, clearance fees, to be paid by e-shoppers. This might be necessary for customers using DAP solutions that would not be IOSS- registered. MDC’s DDU process fully automates the DAP process, customer notification by SMS/email, payment collection and associated reconciliation reporting and communication. This should include the submission of the power of attorney to be provided by the e-shopper.
